Anne Törnroos is a Helsinki-based director, art director and photographer. Originally trained in fashion and design, she found her place in the world of image-making and film, working predominantly with fashion and design brands. Her work is known for a strong visual language that moves between fashion and realism; what she describes as a “heightened reality”, where everyday life is subtly stylised and reality is given a more cinematic, visual edge.

She has a particular love for black humour, millennial women, literature, melancholy and a certain kind of madness; the kind found in artists, unconventional thinkers, startup founders and uncitizens. At the moment, she is inspired by the collections of Hodakova and Julie Kegels, childhood memories, the films of Wong Kar-wai, Sofia Coppola’s short film Lick the Star, book Girl on Girl by Sophie Gilbert and the work of artist Tracey Emin. Her favourite food is Finnish pick-and-mix candy; a time machine back to childhood and adolescence. She won’t judge you by your cover. She’ll judge you by your candy. ;)
